Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for nightly freight transport
- Maintain strict DOT compliance with logs, inspections, and safety protocols
- Load/unload cargo efficiently using specialized equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts)
- Navigate complex Bay Area routes with precision and timeliness
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams
- Adapt to changing delivery priorities and urgent shipments
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years OTR or local driving experience
- Familiarity with Port of Oakland operations and container handling
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Knowledge of HAZMAT regulations (certification preferred)
- Strong time management and route optimization skills
