Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers on designated night routes throughout the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
- Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of freight to customers while adhering to strict schedules.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical compliance and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing of goods.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging device (ELD) records in strict compliance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding route changes, delays, and delivery status.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and hazardous material handling procedures when applicable.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B (Required).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience (Preferred).
- Current DOT Medical Card and DOT physical examination on file.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no DUIs, reckless driving violations, or at-fault accidents within the last 3 years.
- Ability to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle troubleshooting.
