Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and delivery vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical integrity.
- Load and unload cargo using proper safety equipment and techniques to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery paperwork.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record throughout the assignment.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding pickup and delivery schedules.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Must possess a clean driving record and be insurable.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and background check.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual labor tasks.
- Strong knowledge of North Carolina roadways and local geography.
