Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to deliver freight to designated locations within the Austin metro area.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads per DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate records using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and delivery paperwork.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route updates, delays, and customer needs.
- Keep the cab and cargo area clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with required endorsements (Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no serious traffic violations (e.g., DUI, reckless driving).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing tasks that require standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of navigation systems and smartphone apps for route planning.
