Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van and reefers) on regional routes
- Adhere to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Load/unload freight with proper equipment and documentation
- Maintain accurate logs and delivery records via electronic logging
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs
- Communicate with dispatch regarding delays or route changes
- Represent SwiftWay professionally with clients and partners
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license (Illinois or state transfer)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable OTR experience
- Clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends
