Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicle: Drive commercial trucks and trailers on designated routes in a safe and efficient manner.
- Pre-Trip Inspection: Perform thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure safety compliance.
- Cargo Handling: Load and unload freight accurately, ensuring cargo is secured and protected.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs using ELD (Electronic Logging Devices) and complete all required paperwork.
- Maintenance: Report any vehicle malfunctions immediately and assist in keeping the truck clean and presentable.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with dispatch and customers to ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Possess a current Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License.
- Clean Record: Must have a clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Age Requirement: Be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle across state lines.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to meet DOT physical requirements, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Endorsements: Hazmat or Tanker endorsements are a plus but not required.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to navigate using GPS and maps.
