Responsibilities
- Operate Class A commercial vehicles safely across Chicago metro and regional routes
- Load/unload freight using forklifts and pallet jacks (training provided)
- Maintain DOT compliance logs and pre/post-trip inspections
- Deliver time-sensitive freight to distribution centers and warehouses
- Utilize GPS navigation for optimal route planning and on-time delivery
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and company policies
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean MVR
- Minimum 1 year tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Chicago traffic patterns and regional highways
- Basic forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Flexible availability including weekends and early mornings
