Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (Class A) to deliver freight to designated locations in Washington DC and surrounding regions.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo, verifying manifests and securing loads according to safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route changes, traffic conditions, and delivery updates.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and DOT regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A) with a clean driving record (no more than 3 points).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial truck driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement and hazardous materials handling (if applicable).
- Basic proficiency with navigation systems and electronic logging devices.
