Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 8 tractor-trailers on multi-state routes
- Adhere strictly to FMCSA regulations and company safety protocols
- Plan efficient routes using GPS and real-time traffic monitoring
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logs
- Load/unload freight with proper securing techniques
- Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery status and delays
- Maintain clean driving record and zero-tolerance safety compliance
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean 3-year driving record
- Minimum 2 years OTR experience (no recent major violations)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Proficient in electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Strong time management and route optimization skills
- Flexibility for overnight travel and weekend shifts
- TWIC card preferred for port access
