Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles for long-haul deliveries to Washington D.C. and surrounding regions
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and pre/post-trip inspections
- Optimize routes to ensure timely deliveries and fuel efficiency
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Handle cargo loading/unloading with proper equipment techniques
- Respond proactively to changing delivery schedules and traffic conditions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights/weekends
- Strong knowledge of Washington D.C. metro area traffic patterns
- HAZMAT certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Clean background check and no serious moving violations in past 3 years
