Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial trucks for freight transportation
- Plan efficient routes using GPS technology to meet delivery deadlines
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle logs
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations and company safety policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Load/unload cargo securely following proper procedures
- Report mechanical issues and coordinate vehicle maintenance
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical, background check, and drug screening
- Proficiency in electronic logging device (ELD) systems
- Knowledge of Virginia roadways and hazmat regulations (preferred)
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
