Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and delivery vehicles safely and efficiently on a local route.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or pallet jacks, ensuring proper securing of goods.
- Verify delivery contents against bills of lading and obtain signatures from recipients.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all DOT and company safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and delays.
- Report mechanical issues or accidents immediately to management.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (no more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years).
- Ability to pass a DOT drug screen and background check.
- Strong knowledge of local Tampa area roads and traffic patterns.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and loading cargo into the truck.
- Excellent time management and customer service skills.
- Previous experience in logistics or delivery driving is preferred.
