Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (dry van, refrigerated, or flatbed) to transport freight on scheduled routes
- Perform pre-trip inspections, vehicle maintenance checks, and ensure DOT compliance
- Load/unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and documentation for regulatory compliance
- Communicate with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status
- Adapt to changing schedules and routes while maintaining on-time delivery performance
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of recent tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Strong knowledge of Virginia traffic laws and interstate regulations
- Flexibility for regional routes and occasional overnight stays
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills for roadside repairs
- Excellent time management and customer service abilities
