Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers for weekend delivery routes within Washington DC metropolitan area
- Load/unload freight with precision and maintain accurate delivery documentation
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and adhere to FMCSA regulations
- Optimize routes for timely deliveries while prioritizing safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team and clients regarding shipment status
- Maintain clean driving record and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Support warehouse operations during loading/unloading when required
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years of tractor-trailer experience with weekend shift availability
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pass DOT physical examination
- Familiarity with Washington DC traffic patterns and delivery zones
- Strong time-management skills with ability to meet tight delivery deadlines
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices (ELD) and transportation software
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime during peak seasons
