Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations in and around Chicago, IL.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate driver logs (ELD) and ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and on time.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing freight.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Must have a clean driving record (MVR check).
- Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Minimum 1-2 years of verifiable truck driving experience preferred.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and paperwork.
