Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A) safely and efficiently on various road conditions throughout the Chicago area and surrounding regions.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling techniques to ensure cargo integrity.
- Maintain accurate logs (DVIR) and ensure compliance with all DOT and company safety regulations.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues.
- Deliver freight on time and maintain a professional image while interacting with customers and warehouse personnel.
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules and route planning to minimize detention time and maximize efficiency.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable truck driving experience preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo securement procedures.
- Must be available to work Friday through Sunday (Weekend Shift).
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening.
