Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL) on long-haul and regional routes
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Plan and execute efficient delivery schedules while maintaining accurate logs
- Inspect vehicles pre/post-trip and report maintenance issues immediately
- Load/unload freight using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack)
- Maintain clear communication with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Manage documentation including bills of lading and delivery confirmations
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Knowledge of Houston metro area and Texas highway systems
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly and work in various weather conditions
- Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends
