Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers for long-haul and regional routes across Texas and surrounding states
- Adhere to strict FMCSA regulations and company safety protocols at all times
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections, documentation, and post-trip vehicle maintenance reports
- Efficiently manage delivery schedules while maintaining on-time performance metrics
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel
- Maintain accurate logs and electronic records using ELD systems
- Represent Swift Transportation professionally in customer interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year of tractor-trailer experience (OTR or regional preferred)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb equipment safely
- Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
- Excellent time management and route planning skills
- Flexibility to work variable schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELD)
