Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A/B CDL) to transport goods within the DC metropolitan area
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic records using fleet management software
- Perform pre-trip inspections and report vehicle maintenance needs promptly
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and local traffic laws
- Provide exceptional customer service during loading/unloading and delivery interactions
- Optimize routes to ensure timely deliveries and fuel efficiency
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Washington DC traffic patterns and delivery zones
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement techniques
- Basic proficiency in using electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Excellent time management and route planning skills
- Must pass background check and have no major moving violations in past 3 years
