Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 8 trucks for local freight distribution in Washington DC metro
- Maintain meticulous delivery logs and DOT compliance documentation
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs
- Coordinate with dispatch team for efficient route optimization
- Handle specialized cargo requiring temperature control or hazardous materials endorsement
- Represent Capital Fleet Logistics with professional conduct at all client sites
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with minimum 2 years verifiable experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Washington DC traffic regulations and route systems
- HAZMAT endorsement preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
