Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight across designated routes
- Conduct thorough pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate DOT logs
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and FMCSA regulations
- Coordinate with dispatch for efficient load management and delivery timelines
- Provide exceptional customer service during loading/unloading operations
- Utilize GPS technology for optimal routing and real-time updates
- Report vehicle maintenance issues promptly to maintenance team
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physical loading/unloading duties
- Strong knowledge of Charlotte metro area and surrounding regions
- Pass DOT physical and random drug screening requirements
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Ability to work flexible schedules including early mornings and weekends
