Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial Class A tractor-trailer in accordance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs (DVIR, ELD, IFTA) and ensure cargo is loaded and secured properly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and practice defensive driving techniques at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and route changes.
- Represent Apex Logistics professionally at all times while on the road.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of DOT hours-of-service regulations and cargo securement rules.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
