Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for regional and long-haul routes
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle logs
- Plan efficient routes using GPS navigation systems while adhering to delivery schedules
- Load/unload freight with proper equipment and secure cargo per DOT regulations
- Communicate with dispatch team regarding delivery status and potential delays
- Maintain compliance with all federal/state transportation laws and safety protocols
- Represent Metro Logistics with professionalism during client interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screen, and background check
- Proficient in using electronic logging devices and GPS navigation
- Strong knowledge of Philadelphia metro area and surrounding states
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- HAZMAT endorsement preferred
