Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers to transport freight on regional routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Manage delivery schedules while ensuring on-time performance
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Secure cargo properly and maintain proper documentation (BOLs, manifests)
- Collaborate with warehouse teams for efficient loading/unloading operations
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years of tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong knowledge of Maryland and surrounding states' roadways
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights/weekends
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor roadside repairs
