We are seeking a visionary Strategic Operations Director to oversee the legacy development and operational execution in the New York region. Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end operational strategy for legacy venues and infrastructure projects aligned with the 2026 World Cup roadmap.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, including logistics, compliance, and project management units.
- Manage high-stakes stakeholder relationships with government bodies, sponsors, and local communities.
- Develop and monitor detailed budgets and resource allocation plans to ensure financial efficiency.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks to guarantee project milestones are met on time and within scope.
- Implement rigorous quality assurance processes to meet international sporting standards.
- Report directly to the VP of Operations on project health, key performance indicators (KPIs), and strategic pivots.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic operations, project management, or event logistics, preferably within the sports or large-scale event industry.
- Proven track record of managing complex, multi-million dollar infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of FIFA regulations, compliance standards, and event governance.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse organizational levels.
- PMP, CAPM, or PESP certification is highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to executive stakeholders.
- Flexibility to travel and work irregular hours as required by project deadlines.
