Responsibilities
- Ensure Safety: Safely transport students to and from school, following strict traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after every route to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Student Interaction: Maintain a positive, professional demeanor while interacting with students and parents.
- Route Adherence: Follow assigned routes and schedules accurately to ensure punctuality.
- Emergency Procedures: Execute emergency evacuation procedures and first aid if necessary.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately to the fleet manager.
Qualifications
- CDL Required: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Clean Record: A clean driving record and passing background check/drug screen are mandatory.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain order on the bus.
- Reliability: Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Age: At least 21 years of age.
- Experience: Previous school bus driving experience is a plus but not always required for the right candidate.
