Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A dump trucks for material transport on construction sites and city routes
- Perform daily pre-trip inspections and basic maintenance to ensure vehicle safety
- Manage loading/unloading operations while adhering to weight and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate trip logs and electronic records for compliance reporting
- Collaborate with site supervisors to coordinate delivery schedules and prioritize tasks
- Implement defensive driving techniques in high-traffic metropolitan environments
- Train junior drivers on company protocols and best practices
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement preferred
- Minimum 5 years' experience operating dump trucks in urban/metro areas
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to pass DOT physical and random drug screenings
- Familiarity with NYC traffic regulations and construction site protocols
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills for on-road repairs
- Strong communication skills for client and team interactions
- Flexibility for extended hours and weekend shifts as needed
