Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A) in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle readiness and safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using proper equipment and techniques to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and ensure compliance with Hours of Service regulations.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and potential delays.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A) with a clean driving record (MVR check required).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial environment.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and a negative drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo securement methods.
- Willingness to work varying shifts and travel long distances within the state of Texas.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout the shift.
