Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student behavior during transportation ensuring a positive experience
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations and district policies
- Manage emergency procedures and student safety protocols
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident documentation
Qualifications
- Valid Missouri Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Excellent driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with children
- Ability to obtain required CPR and First Aid certification
- Flexible schedule availability (early mornings and afternoons)
- Background clearance through Kansas City Public Schools
