Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections of buses to ensure mechanical safety
- Maintain orderly student conduct and implement safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all traffic laws and district safety regulations
- Complete detailed incident reports and maintenance documentation
- Assist students with mobility needs and special accommodations
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement (or ability to obtain)
- Clean driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
- Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening
- Fingerprint clearance and background check required
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Patience and ability to work with diverse age groups
- High school diploma or equivalent required
