Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following traffic laws and district policies
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Manage student behavior with firm yet compassionate guidance during transit
- Maintain accurate attendance records and communication with school administrators
- Adhere to strict safety protocols for student loading/unloading procedures
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and route deviations
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record (minimum 3 years)
- Ability to obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Pass federal background check and drug screening requirements
- Strong communication skills for interacting with students and parents
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Patience and calm demeanor when managing student groups
