Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and extracurricular activities following designated routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and ensure maintenance compliance
- Manage student behavior with professionalism and implement district safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident documentation
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations and school policies
- Provide emergency assistance and first aid when necessary
Qualifications
- Valid Kansas Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain Class B Commercial Driver's Permit (CDL) with Passenger/School Bus endorsement
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children preferred
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Background check clearance
