Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and educational field trips
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Enforce bus safety protocols and student conduct standards
- Maintain accurate route logs and student attendance records
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and district officials
- Adhere to all Hawaii DOT and federal transportation regulations
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and student needs during transit
Qualifications
- Valid Hawaii driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass DOT physical and background clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum age 21 with 2+ years driving experience
- Child CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts
- Residency in Honolulu or surrounding area preferred
