Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and school schedules
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues promptly
- Ensure student safety during boarding, exiting, and transportation with proper supervision
- Maintain accurate attendance records and communication with school administration
- Follow emergency protocols and manage student behavior according to district policies
- Keep buses clean, organized, and stocked with necessary safety equipment
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff regarding transportation matters
Qualifications
- Valid Oklahoma Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements
- Clean driving record with no major violations (DUI, reckless driving) within 3 years
- Pass federal background check, drug screening, and DOT physical examination
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse student populations
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections and troubleshooting
