Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and field trips following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and clear communication
- Adhere to precise schedules and routes using GPS tracking systems
- Document daily operations and submit incident reports when required
- Assist students with boarding/disboarding, including those with special needs
- Maintain constant situational awareness during all transit operations
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening (provided)
- Clear background check and driving record
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work early morning/afternoon hours
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working with children preferred
