Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student conduct during transit and enforce bus safety rules
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Complete accurate daily logs and incident reports
- Assist students with mobility needs and special accommodations
- Participate in mandatory safety training and professional development
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Pass background check and drug screening as per federal regulations
- Minimum 1 year of driving experience with clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility
- Strong communication skills and patience working with children
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred (training provided)
