Responsibilities
- Safely transporting students to and from school, following assigned routes and schedules.
- Conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintaining a clean and orderly bus interior, including cleaning restrooms and trash removal.
- Managing student behavior on the bus, enforcing safety rules, and maintaining a positive environment.
- Communicating effectively with dispatch, parents, and school administration regarding delays or issues.
- Adhering to all traffic laws, state regulations, and school district policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Passenger endorsement (P) and Air Brake (S) endorsement.
- Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Excellent driving record with no recent major violations (MVR check required).
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift heavy items, stand for extended periods, and handle emergency situations calmly.
