Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school, field trips, and extracurricular activities
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Enforce bus safety rules and manage student behavior professionally
- Complete accurate attendance and incident reports
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations and district policies
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Maintain calm demeanor during emergency situations
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement
- Satisfactory driving record and background check
- Minimum 21 years of age with high school diploma/GED
- First Aid/CPR certification (training provided if needed)
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Prior experience working with children preferred
- Ability to work early morning/afternoon hours
