Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes while adhering to strict safety protocols
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance reporting
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and conflict resolution
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Adapt to schedule changes and emergency route modifications
Qualifications
- Valid Kansas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 3 years driving experience with clean MVR record
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Child safety certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Background check clearance through USD 259
