Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on assigned routes while adhering to strict schedules
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain a safe and orderly bus environment for all passengers
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Follow all traffic laws, school district policies, and safety protocols
- Complete daily trip logs and incident reports as required
- Assist students with special needs during boarding and disembarking
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Minimum 3 years driving experience with clean driving record
- Pass Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and fingerprint background checks
- Ability to obtain California School Bus Driver Certificate
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with children
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate bus controls
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
