Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on assigned routes following strict schedules and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Maintain a positive, orderly environment onboard while supervising student conduct
- Adhere to all traffic laws, district policies, and emergency procedures
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Complete accurate daily attendance and incident reports
- Participate in ongoing safety training and professional development
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 1-year driving experience with clean driving record (DMV printout required)
- Pass federal background check and fingerprint clearance
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain during training)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts if needed
- Fluent English communication skills (bilingual Spanish a plus)
- Ability to work early mornings and afternoons with flexible availability
