Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following all traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and cleanliness
- Supervise student behavior and maintain a positive, secure environment during transit
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adapt routes and schedules to accommodate field trips and extracurricular activities
- Maintain accurate attendance records and incident reports
- Participate in ongoing safety training and professional development
Qualifications
- Valid Oregon Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Minimum 2 years driving experience with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification (training provided)
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work early mornings and flexible hours
- Pass background check and fingerprinting process
- High school diploma or equivalent required
