Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Implement student safety protocols during boarding, transit, and departure
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement techniques
- Complete daily trip logs and incident reports accurately
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
Qualifications
- Valid Oregon Commercial Driver's License (Class B with P/S endorsement)
- Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Previous experience with children or special populations preferred
