Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle maintenance logs
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement techniques
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations
- Assist students with special needs during loading/unloading
- Inclement weather route compliance training provided
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with clean 3-year driving record
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and assist with wheelchair restraints
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Background check clearance required
- Must complete paid training program (4 weeks, paid hourly)
- Responsible attitude and commitment to student safety
