Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain a positive, supportive environment for all passengers
- Adhere to all traffic laws and school district policies
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Manage student behavior with firmness and compassion
- Complete daily maintenance logs and incident reports
- Participate in ongoing safety training and professional development
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements OR willingness to obtain during paid training
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience working with children preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and occasional weekends
