Responsibilities
- Transport students safely to and from school and school-related activities in strict adherence to the approved route schedule.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during boarding, exiting, and transit, enforcing safety rules on the bus.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues or safety hazards.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free bus environment at all times.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, school administrators, and dispatch regarding delays or behavioral issues.
- Follow all traffic laws, state regulations, and school district policies while operating the vehicle.
- Assist students with special needs when necessary, ensuring equal access to transportation services.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Proof of insurability and a satisfactory driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
- Excellent customer service skills, patience, and the ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
- Physical ability to stand, sit, and lift moderate weights (up to 50 lbs) for loading/unloading students.
- Reliable attendance record and punctuality are mandatory requirements.
