Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Ensure student safety through proper loading/unloading procedures and route monitoring
- Conduct daily pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance reports
- Maintain a positive, orderly environment for all passengers
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adhere to all federal/state traffic laws and district policies
- Respond professionally to emergencies and student needs
Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age with valid Texas driver's license
- Pass background check, drug screening, and physical examination
- Ability to obtain CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement (training provided)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and ability to work with diverse age groups
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and sit for extended periods
