Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and field trips following designated routes and schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of buses to ensure mechanical safety and cleanliness
- Maintain discipline and positive interactions with students while enforcing safety protocols
- Complete accurate daily logs and incident reports as required by district policies
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations and school district procedures
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding route changes or concerns
- Participate in ongoing safety training and professional development programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement (training provided)
- Pass background check, drug screening, and physical examination
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with children
- Reliability and punctuality with flexible availability during school hours
- No prior experience necessary – comprehensive training provided
