Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and extracurricular events
- Conduct daily pre-trip inspections and vehicle maintenance checks
- Manage student behavior according to district protocols
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations
- Respond to emergency situations calmly and professionally
Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Driver's License (Class D minimum)
- Ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with school bus endorsement (training provided)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Background clearance through BCI/FBI
