Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules and traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment for students during transit
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus safely
- Report any incidents or maintenance issues promptly to management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Willingness to obtain CDL with School Bus Endorsement (training provided)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage student behavior calmly and professionally
- Punctuality and reliability with consistent attendance
- Pass background check and child safety training
